Is clinical data management (CDM) different from medical coding?+
Yes. CDM is about cleaning, validating and managing trial data, usually using EDC tools and CDISC standards. Coding is about assigning ICD/CPT codes. CDM tends to pay more and is more analytical.
Do I need to know coding (Python / SAS) for CDM?+
Not on Day 1. You'll start with EDC and SQL basics, and we'll layer SAS in week 4. Many CDMs build long careers without becoming hardcore programmers.
What's the salary range?+
₹4 – ₹8 LPA for fresh CDMs in India. Senior CDMs with SAS skills cross ₹10 – ₹15 LPA. The shift is usually IST or US-evening.
